December 24

The Miracle

I got to my goal weight on November 26, 2008. 2 years 2 months and 3 weeks after I joining Weight Watcher. Here I am at last. What I was told by just about everyone in the real world that I would never be able to do. I guess I thrive best when a gauntlet is thrown at my feet. I can't lie it was one of my tools for motivation. My major motivation still is wanting to be there for my family, instead of in a grave somewhere. Or worse having to be taken care of by them in some sort of debilitating situation.

Now comes the real hard part... maintenance. I have no delusions that this will be easy or elementary. I have now completed six weeks of maintenance and I have also weighed in as a lifetime member for the month of December. It was all touch and go the whole time. Not one week until now has been easier than any week while I was on the program. As a matter of fact, I had to skip my scheduled weigh in and wait three days so that I would make my sixth weigh in to make lifetime weight under the goal limit. Right now I am a pound over goal. I have weeks before I have to weigh in again. As long as I get everything back on track and under control I will be fine and even before New Years Day. I do want to weigh in on January 4th as I would normally do. I feel confident I can do it too. Again I hate to say it, but it will not be easy. I have to still maintain my focus and determination.

My quote for this post will be this:

Attitude determines how well you do it." - Lou Holtz
